So council voted unanimously back in January to finally move on that grant for the outdoor stage and the new parking lot for tourists and the ATV/UTV crowd. Six years that thing sat there. It was put together under Wellenberger, and Mayor Connell says timelines will be announced "as planning and permitting move along." Ok, but its July now and I still havent seen a single survey stake, a sign, nothing.
Does anybody actually know where the stage is supposed to go? I live out in Edgemont so maybe I'm just the last to hear, but I've asked three people and got three different answers. One said by the marina, one said near the community center, and one said "somewhere downtown" which is not a location.
I'm not against it. A parking lot that gets the UTV trailers off the road shoulders would be great, and more people in town means more people eating at our restaurants. But I'd like to know before the dirt gets turned and everybody finds out from the orange cones. Someone go to a council meeting and report back, I'm begging. Or tell me I missed the map somewhere.
