What's actually open for breakfast and dinner once the weekend crowd leaves?

Trying to plan ahead for the slow months. Last winter I got caught a couple of times driving around the Bay at 6:30 on a Monday night with nothing lit up, and I ended up with cereal for supper. Not my proudest moment.

For those of you who are here year round, which places actually keep regular hours once the part-timers head south? And which ones quietly start closing at 2 or 3 in the afternoon without telling anybody? I've been burned by a posted sign that said one thing and a locked door that said another.

Breakfast is the bigger question for me. A few of us have a sewing group that meets early on Tuesdays and it would be nice to grab something after instead of going all the way to Clinton or Heber Springs. Also curious what folks do on Mondays, since that seems to be the dead night around here. Is anyone reliably open, or is it just cook at home and call it good?

If somebody wants to keep a running list of what's open and when, I'll happily help update it. Before football season starts up again would be ideal, because game days are a whole other scheduling headache.

Monday's been the dead night in the Bay as long as I've been here... and that's a good while now. My rule is call ahead. Don't trust the sign, and don't trust whatever the Facebook page says either, half of those haven't been touched since last fall.

The hours kind of follow the part-timers. When the porches go dark on my street, the places trim back to whatever the year-round folks can carry. Breakfast holds up better than supper, though. Retired people are up at 5 anyway...

Keisha, if you start the list I'll add what I know. And I keep a couple containers of soup in the freezer for Monday nights, so I never end up with the cereal.

Soup in the freezer beats my system, which is smoking a pork butt on Sunday and eating pulled pork till Wednesday. My wife says she can hear it when I open the fridge. But it does solve Monday.

Agree on calling ahead. Half those Facebook pages look like they were last touched when Obama was in office. Out here in Scotland we don't even have the option to drive around and hope, so I call first or I eat at home.

Keisha, put me down for the list. I'll add what I know about breakfast, since I'm up at 5 like Cedric says whether I want to be or not. And I'll come to the sewing group if there's a restaurant after. Thanks!
